Aside from Tolkien, Diana Wynne Jones, and Patricia A. McKillip, no author have I praised and honored more than Ursula K. Le Guin for her classic Earthsea Cycle and also great albeit lesser known work the Annals of the Western Shore. Indeed, it is to Ursula K. Le Guin that I owe my own Fantasy series, for without Earthsea it would never have existed.
So I come with glad news indeed! That, in this age where graphic novels are nearly if not as popular as regular books, A Wizard of Earthsea is getting a graphic novel adaptation, illustrated by acclaimed artist Fred Fordham whom already has similarly and reportedly brilliant adaptations of To Kill a Mockingbird and Brave New World to his name. Tis coming out March 11, 2025, and by the Ring of Erreth-Akbe I cannot wait to see it!
If I were to speculate, the cover is a picture of the Isolate Tower on Roke Island.
